About Mary Ellen Metke

Mary Ellen has been a practitioner of classical five element acupuncture for more than 20 years. She studied with Professor Mary Ellen Metke, Classical AcupuncturistJ.R. Worsley, the man credited with bringing traditional acupuncture to the West.

Longmont United Hospital hired Mary Ellen in 1996, making her the first acupuncturist hired by a hospital in Colorado. In 2000, Mary Ellen started teaching at the Institute of Taoist Education and Acupuncture (ITEA) in Louisville, Colorado. She is presently Chairman of the Board of ITEA. In 2003, she entered the Worsley Institute's Masters & Apprentice Program, initiated by Professor Worsley and J.B. Worsley, J.D., D.Ac.

After practicing acupuncture in Massachusetts and Maryland, Mary Ellen opened her Boulder, Colorado, office in 1990.
